Windy City Sounds: Marko Stat$

Every once in a while I’ll hear just one song from an artist and know I’ll be listening to them for quite some time. Marko Stat$ had that effect on me when I first heard his track Jubilation and from that moment on I’ve been following his music and been wildly impressed. I recently featured him on Don’t Sleep Pt. 6 and was excited to get to interview him for this feature. His introspective yet often upbeat sound creates a thoughtful juxtaposition that is immediately ear catching but will also have listeners coming back and revisiting songs to really hear the message he’s providing. See what he had to say about his project BEE-4 I FLY AWAY, how Chicago has impacted his music, and who some of his influences are below.` … More Windy City Sounds: Marko Stat$

There are plenty of artists in Chicago making creative, innovative music but Seer is proving to be one of the city’s most imaginative musicians. Mile Higher Musicians: CRL CRRLL

When I first moved to Denver, checking out the local music scene was one of the things on my to do list. One of the earlier performances I caught was from CRL CRRLL it was immediately clear he had the talent to make a name for himself. His live performances are energetic and his music translates well from wax to his live sets, bringing to life the groovy sounds he creates. With influences from funk, soul, and disco, CRL CRRLL’s music is eclectic and organic, tempting listeners to get up and dance the night away. I got the opportunity to ask CRL CRRLL about his unique sound and how he found it and he came through with some solid answers. … More Mile Higher Musicians: CRL CRRLL

The talented MC has been working on a solo project, TULPA, for a little bit now and has cultivated a focused and captivating aesthetic to go along with his unique music. After hearing singles such as Yellow Boy and Ring Ring, it was hard not to be excited about Jofred’s future.
