Shepard Hues- In Any Hue

Shepard Hues- In Any Hue
While I wasn’t expecting to like this project so much, I’ve found myself coming back for the past few days to hear the interesting, catchy sounds. I knew from the first track, The River, that this tape was going to be something special and a little bit different from the music Hues has dropped before. Right off the bat, the thoughtful R&B sounds are apparent and quite a few of the songs on In Any Hue sound like they’re influenced by Frank Ocean, but Hues never bites his style and clearly finds his own voice throughout the tape. Even though this is a departure from my expectations, it feels like this is a sound that fits Hues’ style very well and every track sounds fluid and natural, coming together for one of the more cohesive projects of the summer. While all 13 tracks are worth a listen, if you’re short on time and can only listen to a few, I recommend The River, Lustrum, Right Through You (ft. Supa Bwe) and Signals.
